The South African Mint will proudly showcase the 2019 Colour Coins at the inaugural horticultural Johannesburg International Flower Show. This year’s range features the beautiful fauna and flora of the Kruger to Canyons Biosphere Reserve, the largest biosphere reserve in South Africa, and currently the third-largest in the world.
The flower show celebrates design and innovation with the country’s leading landscapers, designers, and gardeners and is thus the perfect platform to showcase the striking birds and flowers of the Kruger to Canyons Biosphere Reserve, colour printed on sterling-silver for the preservation of this natural heritage.
Join us at the Johannesburg International Flower Show from the 30th of October to the 3rd of November 2019 at Waterfall City in the Mall of Africa.
The South African Mint was privileged to be part of the first ever annual LATITUDES Art Fair held at the Nelson Mandela Square on 13-15 September 2019. The fair received an astounding response from a diverse and enthusiastic audience of art lovers, curious explorers, and collectors alike, both local and international. The South African Mint was also a popular exhibitor at the fair with the launch of the complete 6-coin uncirculated circulation set for purchase at the Fair.
Following the release of the 2018 24ct gold Natura series featuring the rise of the archosaurs and their evolution, and the subsequent 1oz fine silver coin depicting the Euparkeria Capensis, the South African Mint is proud to introduce the second 1oz fine-silver coin to join the range. Although this silver Natura coin bares the year 2020, it still belongs with the Archosauria family and bares the same reverse the 2018 1oz 24ct gold coin depicting the Coelophysis rhodesiensis.
